Film Acting Workshop

This workshop taught me how to be in front of the camera with truth and confidence. Every week was a real challenge, as if already being on a real set. Today I work in productions I could only dream of before.

Giulia R.

Actress, former workshop student

It was an intense, practical, no-frills journey. I learned how to prepare an audition, read a script, and work with directors and crews. It gave me the tools to truly enter the entertainment industry.

The Film Acting Workshop is an intensive 8‑month program designed for those who dream of working in front of the camera. It is aimed at young people and adults, even without extensive experience, but with strong motivation and a real desire to challenge themselves.

Work is carried out as on a real set: scenes, auditions, self‑tapes, character work, listening to the scene partner, managing emotions and the body in relation to the camera. Little theory, lots of practice. Each lesson is concrete training, with targeted feedback and immediate corrections.

The goal is to train well‑rounded professional actors, able to move confidently in film, TV series and audiovisual productions. The workshop maintains a direct connection with the entertainment industry: casting simulations, meetings with professionals, video materials for one’s own showreel. A clear, demanding and inspiring path to transform talent into a profession.

Film Acting Workshop

The Film Acting Workshop is structured in integrated modules that guide the student from the first contact with the camera to full autonomy on set. The course includes an average of 6–8 hours of lessons per week, divided into afternoon or evening sessions, with work in small groups to ensure constant and personalized feedback. Each module alternates essential theoretical moments with practical exercises, video shooting and guided reviews.

The acting in front of the camera module develops awareness of framing, continuity and acting rhythm, while script analysis teaches how to read the screenplay, identify scene objectives, subtext and narrative arc. In character building, work focuses on biography, relationships, physicality and voice, integrating techniques of identification and critical distance for credible and repeatable acting.

The diction and stage movement modules refine articulation, rhythm, conscious use of accent, posture and management of space in relation to the camera. The module on emotional work guides the student in recognizing and modulating emotional states in a safe and professional way, while improvisation trains readiness, listening skills and the ability to react to the unexpected on set. Audition simulations reproduce real casting conditions, from self-produced self-tapes to in-room presentations, with detailed feedback on presence, choice of scenes and stress management.

During the lessons, scenes are regularly recorded on video and reviewed in class: this makes it possible to analyze together technical precision, character consistency and narrative effectiveness. The basic concepts of a film set include the roles and functions of the crew, technical terminology, professional etiquette, production timelines and safety procedures. At the end of the course, students acquire concrete tools: the ability to prepare a script, attend an audition, work in continuity from one take to the next, communicate with the director and technical department, as well as a first showreel of exercises useful for entering the professional world.

The educational program is designed to simulate real working conditions as closely as possible. The 6–8 weekly hours are organized into blocks that alternate between technical training and scene work. In small groups, students rotate through different roles (lead, supporting role, active extra) to experience various narrative functions. Each exercise is preceded by a brief table read and followed by a collective review, in which interpretative choices, rhythm, use of eye contact, and management of emotional tension are analyzed.

Video shoots are carried out with settings similar to professional ones, so that students learn how to relate to lenses, microphones, lights, and marks on the floor. In-class reviews, led by the teacher, help develop constructive self-criticism and the ability to make quick adjustments from one take to the next. Through this method, students consolidate key skills: reading and preparing the script, building the character according to the genre and required register, managing voice and body in relation to the camera, and teamwork with partners and crew.

At the end of the workshop, students are able to approach a set with greater confidence: they know the basic technical language, can respect timing and directorial instructions, are used to working for specific shots, and can maintain continuity between different takes. The course therefore provides not only a solid artistic foundation, but also practical tools that can be immediately applied in a professional context, from the first auditions to more structured productions.
